MSNBC Readers Support Firearms Carry Overwhelmingly

The left-leaning media network MSNBC offered up a poll to their readers, asking one simple question: Do you think people should be allowed to carry guns in public? More than 353,000 people responded overwhelmingly.

In all, 96 percent of those who voted said that people should be allowed to carry their guns in public. Of that 96 percent, 92 percent said that the Second Amendment guaranteed their right to carry. Another four said that people should carry, but only for self-defense. A final four percent said that public carry of firearms was too dangerous.

This isn't the only example of an MSNBC poll with overwhelmingly pro-gun results. Earlier in July, MSNBC asked a similar question: Do you support open carry laws in restaurants and retail stores?

Again, Nearly 87,000 people responded, with more than 90 percent of readers in support of open carry legislation. Only nine percent responded negatively, saying that armed people in public make them feel uncomfortable. One percent of readers said they weren't sure about such laws.

Unsurprisingly, MSNBC just posted its worst quarterly viewership since 2005, with a 39 percent drop in ratings. The network's Rachel Maddow Show, with its anti-gun host, saw a 46 percent drop in its demographic.
